WORLD MASTERS SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIPS 2028

Masters Sports Persons: Masters are individuals who have mastered a sport or recreational activity or are in the process of mastering one through dedicated practice, experience, and passion. Under the World Masters Sports Federation (WMSF), Masters are recognized within the age category of 30 years to 100 years, encouraging lifelong participation, skill enhancement, and healthy competition across all disciplines. They embody the spirit of excellence, perseverance, and continuous learning in sports, irrespective of age.

Veterans Sports Persons: Veterans are experienced sportsmen and sportswomen who have participated actively in competitive or recreational sports over many years and continue to do so beyond their peak athletic age. They serve as role models, demonstrating that discipline, fitness, and sportsmanship can be lifelong values. Veterans represent resilience, commitment, and the preservation of sports culture across generations.

Senior Citizens Sports Persons: Senior Citizens in sports are individuals typically above the age of 60 who engage in physical and recreational activities for fitness, enjoyment, and community participation. They exemplify active aging and inspire society by proving that sports and exercise contribute to physical health, mental wellness, and social connection well into later years.

The World Masters Sports Federation (WMSF) is the World Governing Body for all Masters, Veterans, and Senior Citizens Sports and Recreational Activities including the World MAsters Sports Championships 2026. It is committed to promoting lifelong participation in sport, fostering healthy competition, and creating inclusive platforms for athletes of all abilities and backgrounds, regardless of age. Through global championships, events, and educational initiatives, the WMSF inspires individuals to stay active, connected, and engaged through the power of sport. 

To enter the World Masters Sports Championships 2026, you must first register with your WMSF National Governing Organization in your respective Country, as all entries are validated by them. After validating your eligibility and residency, yous Country Secretary will complete an online registration which will be provided to the Country Secretary by WMSF and pay the required fee through your national organization's system before the entry deadline.  However if there is no WMSF Affiliated National Governing Organisation in your Country, You may send us email via our contact us page after which you will be guided in the process of sending your entry and entry fees.

Masters / Veterans / Senior citizen sports events often divide competitors in 5‑year age bands.
